Activities - FCCLA


Family Career and Community Leaders of America is a national student organization for young people in family and consumer science classes in public or private school through twelfth grade.

The FCCLA organization has been in effect since 1945. Today there are an estimated 227,000 members in all 50 states as well as the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The purposes of FCCLA:

  • To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.
  • To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society.
  • To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.
  • To encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation and harmony.
  • To promote greater understanding between youth and adults.
  • To provide opportunities for making decisions and assuming responsibilities.
  • To prepare for the mulitple roles of men and women in today's society.
  • To promote Family and Consumer Sciences education and related occupations.

The Central High FCCLA sponsor is Mrs. Tammy Howard.

To join each year you have to pay a membership fee of $20, which covers state and national dues.
