Courses - Advanced English I

Advanced English I is a class for college bound students. The course helps students master a variety of state standards including: language, communications, writing, research, logic, informational text, media, and literature. Although the curriculum is similar to English I, more is expected of Advanced English students. To gain entrance into the class, students must complete three summer reading novels chosen by the teacher, create a project over the novels, and recieve a passing grade on the project. Additionally, students will work on a variety of unit projects throughout the semester and cover state standards at an accelerated pace. The goal of the class is to go above and beyond what is required of English I students so that they can be better prepared for college English.

Summer Reading List 2010
