Drama

Theatre Arts, or Drama, is a class that has become a tradition at Central High School. School plays have been a part of CHS for over 20 years. Mrs. Samantha Taylor is the current Theatre Arts I and II teacher.

 

Students in Mrs. Taylor's classes work together to write their own play, which will be performed in front of various audiences. Additionally, students develop their own characters through costumes, make-up, and dialects. To bring the production to life, the entire class collaborates to develop lighting, sound, and stage design. The ending product is a play fully produced by the class. 

 

Theatre I and Theatre II classes regularly traveled to area elementary and middle schools to perform for the younger students in the past. The high school students always enjoyed interacting with the younger audiences and gained valuable experience on the effort required to "take a show on the road."
